Over the weekend, my mom, sister and I stayed at The Grand America hotel for a little girls weekend away. We started off the evening by having cocktails in the room and then headed downstairs to grab a drink and listen to some of the jazz music playing in the lobby. After that, we headed to dinner at one of my favorite spots, White Horse. We had the most delicious Croque Madame (which is pretty much a high-end ham and grilled cheese) and I have to admit, I am craving it again while writing this post haha. To end the night, we grabbed an after-dinner cocktail at Under Current and then headed back to the room for some much needed beauty rest.
After a night of dining ourselves, we ended up at the outdoor pool all Sunday afternoon! It was the perfect way to relax over the weekend and spend some quality time with my family while the weather is still warm out.
Since we were doing so many activities throughout the weekend, it forced me to pack quite the overnight bag of going-out outfits, cover-ups and swimsuits. Although I pulled out some of my favorite pieces that I own right now (like this off the shoulder jumper featured above), looking around at the hotel guests both in the lobby and at the pool, it made me really want to step up my wardrobe game! The entire hotel was filled with women in beautiful fabrics, chic bathing suits and lace outfits for days. Ever since the weekend ended, I have been looking for new pieces to add to my closet that are feminine, classic and unique that can help spice up my typical ensemble. After looking at some of the current Zimmerman collection, I know that their line is everything I want to accomplish my dream sophisticated look. They have some of the most beautiful detailed pieces, that are still subtle, but are truly showstopping.
While the summer months are coming to an end, so I don’t want to invest in anymore summer pieces, I think I am going to start looking for some long-sleeved tops and dress that I can start transitioning into my fall looks. Because hey, fall is my favorite season, and I need to look on point right! 😉
