Blending Into My Surroundings

This was actually the outfit that I chose to wear for Christmas day! I wanted something more casual than a skirt since I knew I would be going all day, but I also wanted to show off some of my new presents from Christmas (booties and fur vest), so I opted for a Monochromatic winter white look. Of course I had to bring out my favorite pair of white pants. I think they always look good, and if you pair them with the right outfit, they can be worn year-round.
I feel like the shoes and vest were a good contrast to the rest of the outfit by bringing in a slightly different color and making them stand out, without drawing too much attention away from the rest of the pieces.

Well I hope all of you had a fabulous New Years! I am excited to see what 2013 has to bring us.
With the New Year came a cold front in Utah and we are feeling it. As you might already know, I have a slight obsession with fur, so when I saw this sweater, I knew immediately I must have it. I found this (plus many other great finds at the Traverse Mountain Outlets in Lehi). If you haven’t been, I recommend you go to check out the Michael Kors, J.Crew, Ralph Lauren, Coach and Le Crueset (my absolute favorite in kitchen novelty) outlet stores.

But now on to fashion. I am loving this new skirt I got from ASOS and can you believe it is under $20 with free shipping? I will admit, it is a pretty dramatic skirt, it puffs out even a little more than it appears in the pictures, but I think it is really fun to play up around the holidays. I also added a brooch (my new favorite go-to accessory and put it over the button on my blazer to give it a little sparkle. By adding a brooch, I kept the rest of my accessories simple so that the focus was on the center piece.
