Snow Day!!!

THE CANVAS –

Winter Wonderland : Mother Nature 😉

So what is it that every little kid dreams about in the winter….pretty sure its a SNOW DAY!
Well I’ll leave little to the imagination, but that is what I got last Friday. It started snowing heavily on Thursday night and to much surprise, we woke up to 2 feet of snow the next morning and it continued to snow heavily throughout the day. With the roads being such chaos I decided to stay home and take a snow day. Normally I would just work from home (but of course our internet was down), so I thought, hey, why not take some pictures for the blog?? Of course that is what any sane person would do right?? lol
So here is my take on what a very fashionable “abominable snowman” or what little red riding hood would wear during a blizzard!

p.s. – I would HIGHLY recommend this umbrella!! It is literally the best on rainy or snowy days. Since it is dome shaped, I can bring it down in front of my face and it covers everything.

Plaid Play

Man does it like to snow in Utah or what?! But at least there is the truth that it is “The Best Snow on Earth” 🙂
To bundle up for this chilly weather, I always decide to layer up. I got this coat for Christmas and it is SO warm. I love the look of it and think that it is so versatile because the giant hood can be used in a sudden snowstorm, or can be wrapped over the shoulders for extra warmth, or even scrunched up like seen in the picture on Nordstrom’s site.
I also have been loving enerything and anything that has to do with Plaid. So I decided to throw on a few of my favorite Burberry accessories to add a bit of pattern to this outfit.

Oh “Deer”

Lipstick : NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil (Cruella)

So of course I had to jump on te bandwagon of animal print sweaters! I loved this one that I found at a local boutique in Utah, Koo De Ker.
The reason I was SO drawn to this sweater is because the animal head was actually made out of sequins! I love being on trend, but finding something that is unique and not the same one everyone else has. By pairing it with a pop of turquoise from my gingham shirt and necklace, I was ready to head out.

(p.s. – The lipstick I am wearing is the new color I got from my brother for Christmas and I love it!! It goes on matte and stays for so long without drying out my lips. If you like a shinier look, just put a clear lipgloss over the top. I must say it is a good find!)

Blending Into My Surroundings

This was actually the outfit that I chose to wear for Christmas day! I wanted something more casual than a skirt since I knew I would be going all day, but I also wanted to show off some of my new presents from Christmas (booties and fur vest), so I opted for a Monochromatic winter white look. Of course I had to bring out my favorite pair of white pants. I think they always look good, and if you pair them with the right outfit, they can be worn year-round.
I feel like the shoes and vest were a good contrast to the rest of the outfit by bringing in a slightly different color and making them stand out, without drawing too much attention away from the rest of the pieces.
