Today’s trend is PRINTS & PATTERNS

Last week I wasn’t sure which print or pattern I would choose…and then there became an obvious winner…animal print! It is the perfect print for these transitional months. It still gives off a summery vibe, with the dark colors of the print being perfect for fall. I got this skirt from Forever21 last spring, but there are tons of similar skirts out there and I even linked one above.

Next week’s trend is LAYERS

My favorite thing about the declining temps has to be layers. I am a layer queen. I love topping off every outfit with gloves, a scarf, an extra coat, etc. What are your go to techniques for layering, but not looking too bulky?

What is more fall than Sweaters & Cardigans? I absolutely love wearing sweaters because they can be casual, but so chic. Especially when paired with a leggings, a great pair of boots and some chic accessories (cough, cough…refer to my outfit choice above lol).

What stores are your favorite for sweaters? This latest one I got is from Target, but I am also loving ASOS, Vici Dolls and Pink Lily Boutique. Please add your recommends in the comments below.

Halloween Party with Paperless Post

As many of you might know if you follow my instagram : @thefashioncanvas, I absolutely LOVE throwing parties. I have done everything from backyard BBQ’s, bridal showers, birthday parties, baby showers, tailgates…and of course my favorite, a Halloween pumpkin carving night.

With October coming up in just one short day, I decided to start looking at sending invites for our night and I found so many cute templates on Paperless Post. They have so many different designs for every occasion. And the Halloween designs were on point. I could have chosen between a ghostly gala, a scary skeleton soiree or even a candy filled bash. But because the main theme of the event is pumpkin carving, I knew I wanted to pick a pumpkin themed invite, and went with THIS simple, yet chic design.

If you haven’t used Paperless Post before, you should definitely consider it for your next party. Not only does it save waste by not making you buy expensive invites that you have to mail, but it sends emails and reminders to your guests, to make sure everyone shows up on the big day. And some of their templates are even free to use.
