Hello Neons!!

This look is definitely helping me get out of this cold funk that Utah has been in for the last few weeks. Zero Degrees is just not my thing!

But my favorite thing, is that I got this J.Crew luggage tag for Christmas and I thought it would be the perfect accessory for my hot pink neon purse. I have never thought about putting a luggage tag on my purses before, but it is actually quite practical and is a great way to add some texture to this bag. It is also great, because it is so versatile and can be taken on and off within seconds.

I think I might start collecting some vintage luggage tags and putting them on more of my purses!

Red Carpet – Golden Globes Edition

Golden Globes Fashion:
The Good, The Bad and The Just Ok

THE GOOD

Julianne Hough in Monique Lhuillier – She looks absolutely stunning and I love even more that she is originally from Utah! This dress reminds me of the dress Serena wore on the final episode of Gossip Girl, and I think both dresses could be my future wedding gown 😉

Katharine McPhee in Theyskens’ Theory –  Typically, I would not like something this revealing, but I think she rocks this look! The only think I might have done is perfect the hair a bit more, it is a little messy for the structured dress.

Nicole Richie in Naeem Kahn – This color is phenomenal with Nicole’s skin tone. Not to keep referencing Gossip Girl, but this totally reminds me of Blaire’s wedding gown. I think this color is going to be Spring’s hottest color!

Michelle Dockery in Alexandre Vauthier : Stunning! I love the placement of the gold overlay. It is the perfect balance with the soft white bottom.

Amy Adams in Marchesa – The fit, the color, the hair, the minimal accessories….all perfect. A+
(Her best look yet)

Kerry Washington in Mui Mui – Fabulous! The embroidery over the sheer fabric is impeccable. I wish I could have seen it in person.

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior – This dress is amazingly flattering. The belt makes her waist appear tinier than it already is!

THE JUST OK

Adele in Burberry – So I love Adele, and I love Burberry. But I feel like I have seen her in this before (or like twenty times). I wish she would try some fun styles and colors. Lets break the mold!

Ariel Winter in Valentino – I do think that this is an age appropriate dress, but come on its the Golden Globes, not a tea party.

Taylor Swift in Donna Karan – LOVE the plum color, but I think this looks too old for her. Would have been better on someone like Nicole Kidman with her red hair.

Anne Hathaway in Chanel – I love her short hair and the white is pretty against her skin tone, but I think she could have chosen more of a wow piece to match her amazing performance in Les Mis.

Stacey Keibler – The dress is pretty, the arm candy is better!!

THE BAD

Halle Berry in Versace – I know this pattern is very “Versace Esque”, but I think it was the wrong choice. She is usually on my best dressed list, but this looked cheap and tacky.

Eva Longoria in Emilio Pucci – Hello Leg!!! The slit is just way too high and I feel like the top is unflattering too. Plus the hair doesn’t work with this.

Jessica Chastain in Calvin Klein – Can we say unflattering?? The fit on top is all wrong. Plus take a look at the platform on those shoes. Way too Lady Gaga for such a classy lady!

Rachel Weisz in Louis Vuitton – This looks like a dress made at Forever 21. I know polka dots are in, but I don’t love it for the red carpet. Also, the shoes are too chunky under the sheer fabric and look very 90’s.

Sienna Miller in Erdem – One word…WOOF! This woman is the queen of trends, but please kill me now if this look comes in style.

Plaid Play

THE CANVAS –

Coat : Cole Hann (on sale!) ~ Sweater Dress : H&M ~ Scarf : Burberry (similar) ~ Boots : Forever 21
Purse : Burberry (similar)~ Gloves : Ralph Lauren ~ Sunglasses : Michael Kors ~ Earrings : Kate Spade

Man does it like to snow in Utah or what?! But at least there is the truth that it is “The Best Snow on Earth” 🙂

To bundle up for this chilly weather, I always decide to layer up. I got this coat for Christmas and it is SO warm. I love the look of it and think that it is so versatile because the giant hood can be used in a sudden snowstorm, or can be wrapped over the shoulders for extra warmth, or even scrunched up like seen in the picture on Nordstrom’s site.

I also have been loving enerything and anything that has to do with Plaid. So I decided to throw on a few of my favorite Burberry accessories to add a bit of pattern to this outfit.

Off to the Emerald City

THE CANVAS –

Jacket : Literature Noir via Flight Boutique ~ Blouse : Ann Taylor ~ Skirt : Custom Made Leather Skirt ~
Belt : Michael Kors ~ Shoes : Aldo ~ Gloves : Ralph Lauren ~ Aviators : Michael Kors ~
Hat : World Market (recent, Plum Version) ~ iPhone Case : Tory Burch ~
Purse : Tory Burch ~ Trunks : Vintage Louis Vuitton

Over the holiday break, I got a lot of time off which was so needed, but I was sad because I wasn’t able to wear any of my Christmas gift right away to work. Well I had an excuse to dress up a bit over one of the weekends and decided to evoke my new favorite trend…emerald jewel tones!

I received this Purse and iPhone case as Christmas gifts, so you know when I saw this green hat while doing errands at World Market in Park City, it was a must buy (especially since it was half off!). I paired the green with a camel color, because I thought it looked very rich with the jewel tones, without competing too much.

What would you pair this jewel tone with?
